Getting to Puerto Rico by Plane

Use your favorite airline to fly into Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (Code - SJU) located in Carolina within the Metropolitan Area. A second and third option is to fly into Mercedita Airport in Ponce or Aguadilla International in the west coast. However, these two airports are located at least 65 miles away from San Juan, and therefore, logistically not as convenient.

Passports are not required for US Citizens traveling from the United States but a valid government issued ID will be required to board the plane. Passports are required if you are flying from outside the United States. If this is your case, you may want to contact your local travel agent and/or American Embassy for details on the requirements to enter Puerto Rico. You can also search for the official entry requirements from the United States State Department.
