Short sting!

Day Two: Ponce to Mayagüez – 78 miles (updated January 17, 2017)

From Ponce, you will ride by the ruins of an old sugar cane plantation in Yauco straight into the main square for breakfast. Highlights on Day Two include the charming seaside village of La Parguera, the dry forests of the southern coast and the beautiful small seaside village of Boquerón. You will arrive in Mayagüez with plenty of time to enjoy the town, the beach or the pool before dinner again on your own. A second option arrival town is Rincón, which requires another 16 miles of cycling to get there. Be advised, if you pick a hotel in Rincón, a group will depart at a neutral speed of 16 mph together in one peloton at 1:00 PM.

Day Two: Rincón Hotel Option - Extra 13 miles (Neutral start at 1:00 PM)

If you choose to stay at the Villa Cofresí Hotel in Rincón, you will need to ride roughly another 13 miles this day but will save those tomorrow. Riders will ride neutral at 16 mph average from the Mayagüez lunch location. Every effort will be made to arrive in Rincón at around 1:45 pm, just in time for Check-In! (The next day these riders stay put and merge with the rest of riders as each peloton passes by main State Road 115)
